Our Journey

Ebenezer Eritrean Church was born on March 30, 2008, with a humble gathering of thirty-four individuals at the Unification Church in Washington, DC. Just two weeks later, we found a new home at the Washington International Church, where our community began to flourish.

As our congregation continued to grow, we realized the need for a larger space to accommodate our expanding family. In February 2010, we relocated to the convenient Embassy Row location at 3855 Massachusetts Avenue, Washington, DC 20009. It was here that we further deepened our roots and strengthened our bond as a church family.

On October 11, 2009, our church called and ordained Pastor Goitom Mezgebo as our spiritual leader. Under his guidance and through the grace of God, our community has thrived and our faith has deepened.

Our Growth

Throughout our journey, Ebenezer Eritrean Church has continued to grow, moving to various locations to accommodate the increasing number of members. Today, we are proud to call 1701 17th Street NW, Washington DC our home. Here, we host a multitude of programs and activities that cater to the diverse needs of our congregation.
